Unicycling !!

Its almost 3 weeks since I bought my unicycle. It is harder than I thought!! I haven't started riding without a support yet but so far its been an awesome experience! If you have never tried unicycling before, you should. Trust me it is unlike any other balancing sport! There are zillion ways to fall!! If you really think about it, it is basic physics (which wouldn't come handy when you fall :). Its all about keeping your center of gravity close to the vertical. The most exciting part is that I am learning something from the scratch. Just like I learned bicycle when I was a kid.

Following are a few facts I realized in past three weeks. They seem to be helping me, might help you too - not to become an UC expert, but to keep you motivated.
  1. YOU WILL FALL MANY TIMES!- so make up your mind - mostly body :)
  2. Its all about getting used to your UC
  3. Relax and be patient. There are no shortcuts to learn UC
  4. Practise... practise... practise... practise
  5. May help but do not count on your bicycle/skates/ski skills
  6. Before starting take a moment, close your eyes and imagine the balancing scenarios
  7. Everyday try to learn something new (even if its small) and be proud of it - it will keep you motivated
  8. Everyday start with your most comfortable position
  9. Do not take more than 50% risk. If you see a chance of falling, back off
  10. Learn from your mistakes and do not over do
